Royal Academy of Dance (RAD)![]() Primary is 1 lesson per week, increasing to 2 lessons per week for exam preparation. Grades 1 to 5 students are required to attend 2 Ballet classes per week to ensure correct knowledge and performance of the exam criteria. Exam students also need to attend 1 Pilates class per week The schools average graded exam result is 92%. The syllabus has 3 sections
Vocational / Major Grades; Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced students are required to attend 3 Ballet classes, 1 Stretch & Strengthen Class and /or Pilates & 1 Pointe class per week. These classes are necessary to prepare the student for Pointe work and the Major exams. Students not able to attend all these classes are still very welcome however; entries for examinations will not be possible. Exams are held twice a year in May & October; students are invited to enter for their exam when they have reached their full potential in that particular grade.
